Getting married – question about changing earrings too soon?
I’m 20 and had my ears pierced when I was 8, but due to circumstances I let them grow back. I just had my lobes re-pierced last week, a total of three weeks and one day before the wedding. If I were to wait until right before the wedding, then remove my current earrings, thoroughly clean the hole with solution & use light (but dangly) silver sterile studs only for the duration of the ceremony, then replace my original studs, would I be safe from infection? I’ve been putting Neosporin around the surface of the piercing in hopes of it healing more quickly.
I had my ears pierced when I was 15 and changed the original studs within 2 weeks. If you clean the area well – I used lots of alcohol to wipe down the posts of new earrings, and wear either surgical stainless steel or some natural metal you aren’t allergic to, you should be ok. It’s good that the new earrings you will change into are not heavy or too dangly. That might stretch out your piercing.
