what could it be? thick tendon?
4 weeks ago my horse came in from the field with a fat tendon. absolutely no lameness however heat and swelling. cold hosed, bandaged, tendon jell and box rested for 3 weeks. due to no lameness in any gait or ground started to lightly bring back to work as this seemed to reduce the little heat left and size. now no heat at all, but still thick. has been suggested that could be badly bruised cannon bone which is just spreading the swelling from behind. any suggestions of what it could be or what i should do? ps flex test 100%, pinch test showing no discomfort at all.
do you think this could have created a weakness that could suddenly go later?
I wouldn’t try to do the vet’s job on this one, I would definitely get his/her opinion. It could be something that could be serious if not treated exactly correctly.
