medical Gauze Sponges safe for use in the mouth?
I had a tooth removed. I left my dentist determined gauze. I have some safety Kendall AMD gauze. The patient was treated with polyhexamethylene biguanide (0.2%). It was my only option, then I used it. Its flavor is disgusting. I tried looking to see if it is safe use, and can not find all the information is. It states used for the following purposes: exudate wounds, burns of first and second grade, surgical wounds, and packing the wound.
these chemicals are outdoors … not intended to be placed in the mouth .. … However, I do not think the amount is ingested or enought great cause any systemic damage. Do not do in the future ..
